Thomas Glößl

Thomas Glössl is a Junior Researcher at Fresh Thoughts Consulting GmbH and has been part of the team since 2022. He specialises in EU water and environmental policy, with a strong focus on climate change adaptation, water resources management, drought and flood risk governance, and nature-based solutions.

He contributes to Horizon 2020 projects and European Commission assignments, analysing regulatory barriers and enabling conditions, developing policy recommendations, drafting guidance documents, and supporting strategic governance processes. His work also includes preparing briefings for EU delegations in international contexts, including COP processes, and facilitating stakeholder engagement through structured participatory formats.

Thomas holds an engineering degree (equivalent to MSc) from BOKU Vienna, where he specialised in water and energy management and wrote his thesis on water allocation. He also earned a Master’s degree in Environment and Sustainable Management from IMC FH Krems. In addition, he is a certified corporate waste manager and environmental auditor.
